
Project Charter:
To develop and maintain San Antonio’s IT talent. Give our local graduates first hand view of globalization and to help them understand the global sourcing model by deploying them on real life out-sourced projects.
Background:
In a 2008 Cybercities study by American Electronics Association, San Antonio was ranked 48th in the nation for high-tech jobs as compared to Dallas which was ranked 5th. We need to fill the skill gap needed to succeed in a world where outsourcing is a key lever to gain competitive advantage. With this program we to provide tools needed for our local graduates to succeed in their IT careers. By deploying our graduates on real life projects, we can:

. Provide hands on technical education & experience
. Help build a global workforce in San Antonio
. Help boost our local economy by providing our graduates better job opportunities in IT
Program Overview:
Chennai, India is sister city of San Antonio. Chennai is already integrated in global IT supply chain with all the major IT companies having a base there. Y&L Consulting, Inc. will leverage the relationship with Chennai to provide a real life project development and delivery experience. Y&L will partner with leading outsourcing firms to create positions in project which will utilize our graduate in day to day operations of the project. Our student will experience the cultural challenges in global outsourcing environment. Y&L will take care of all logistical needs like flight, boarding, transportation etc. Student will have a hassle free environment to gain knowledge and experience.

City of San Antonio is extremely interested in our program when we presented this to our Mayor. There are multiple ways to sponsor a candidate

Technology Foucus:
We will focus on current technologies used by companies. Focus will be on ERP packages, programming languages, database technologies, network and system administration and Project Management.
